“Philippe Eternod and Jean-David Mermod’s collection of Art Brut art has been acquired since the late 1980s and is constantly growing. The core of their collection is a large number of drawings by the Swiss artist Louis Soutter as Jean-David Mermod inherited from his grandfather. The two collectors were initially classmates at the University of Lausanne, and in 1990 they made their first purchase. The two friends then gave their collecting a more targeted character in the form of a tireless collecting project characterized by a burning passion.  ‘Our goal is to share our passion, with all its faults and flaws,’ says Mermod.”
