Ninety years ago the College of Psychic Studies, under its former name of the London Spiritualist Alliance, took part in an extraordinary exhibition in London called Objects of Psychic Interest. A first of its kind in the UK, the exhibition displayed over 500 drawings, photographs, apports, automatic writing slates, letters, books and ephemera. The show was a triumph, attracting considerable press attention and it became a highly popular destination for the public over its two day duration.
As part of their 90th anniversary celebrations, the College is once again exhibiting their incredible collection of psychic objects representing the College’s role in the history of spiritualism and psychical research since 1884. Visitors will be able to tour the college and see superb examples of psychic art including Madge Gill, spirit photography, apports, seance records, spirit trumpets and direct writing slates. There will also be material relating to Arthur Conan Doyle, Harry Price’s National Laboratory of Psychical Research and the lives of many famous mediums that have been part of the College over the years.
