“ladies – brut” celebrates women in art! Not only the male and female artists, no, but also the depiction of women and the women, who have always been committed to the arts and the beautiful things in life … collectors, gallery owners, muses and women of the artists. This is the first exhibition after experiencing a very interesting time due to the world events.
The many qualities of femininity, of being a woman are presented in this exhibition in a comprehensive way. Curator Irina Katnik, who has already put together the anniversary exhibition on the occasion of Heinrich Reisenbauer’s 80th birthday, presents works by a total of 48 artists in all premises of the gallery. A broad, multi-faceted presentation of classics by the Gugging Artists as well as exciting first presentations await you.
The main aim of the exhibition “ladies – brut” is to show a cross-section of the oeuvre of art brut artists from all over the world and to develop a feeling and awareness for the works. “ladies – brut” brings out the contrasts and similarities between men and women, places them in a discourse with one another and shows the different approaches and working methods.
