Ted Gordon · biography

Ted Gordon was born in Kentucky, US in 1924. He lived with his grandparents in New York before moving to California in his 20s where he married, studied and worked as a mental health worker until he retired in the mid 1980s. He now lives in Laguna Hills, California and continues to draw.

Gordon's drawings are detailed, linear patterned self-portraits and sometimes animals in blue, black or coloured pens. Often, his early works were executed on pieces of cardboard used to divide x-ray films in the hospitals in which he worked.
